In The Beginning...

After trawling other blogs and forums, we've finally decided to do one of our own, and we figured what better time to start than while we're still in the very beginning?

Where we're at:

We have selected our block of land in the Yarrabilba estate, paid our deposit, signed the contracts, and are awaiting financing approval. Our land doesn't register until November, so that gives us plenty of time to get the plans sorted for our house before it's time to build.

As for the build, we have decided to go with Plantation Homes and have settled on the Carmelle Q1 design with the Aston façade. We have however tweaked the façade to have the windows run vertically as opposed to horizontally. Other changes include the addition of the rainwater tank, and the addition of the shower niche to both showers, as well as the extended bench in the laundry.

We have been assigned our administrator, and so far we're very happy with her. She's very quick to respond and nothing is ever too much trouble, even when we decided to change our façade after our initial new home order was submitted.

We have booked in to attend the Cosham Studios info session this Saturday and have our tender appointment scheduled for Aug 29th,  so everything is really starting to move along now!

Here is our floor plan, except we will have it flipped (mirror image)

  1. Hi we are also building carmelle q1 but in mount cotton. We have done all colour selections signed contract, got bank loan and valuation approved just waiting on land registration and council. Great to hear how things are going - where is it up to?
